Penedès, Spain (80% Petit Grain Muscat and 20% Macabeu)
Petillant is a “vi d’agulla,” the Catalan name for prickly wine. This vibrant and refreshing wine is the traditional summertime quaffer of the Penedès region of Catalonia, and it’s perfect for drinking out of a porrón. Fermented in stainless steel. The carbonation is created by the Charmat method of secondary fermentation in tank. Bright honeysuckle and almond on the nose. Bracingly dry on the palate, with flavors of lemon peel and a faint brininess.
Le Fraghe, Bardolino Chiaretto Rosé “Rodon” 2016 – $14.99
Veneto, Italy (Corvina, Rondinella) Organic
The Bardolino growing area is between the base of Lake Garda and the hills where Valpolicella is grown, not far from Verona in North-East Italy. Matilde Poggi’s winery is outside of the town of Affi. The grapes are estate-grown organically and the two varieties are picked and fermented separately; after being aged in stainless-steel tanks the wine is bottled in the spring. Rose hips, wild strawberries and currants.

Pinot Noir Rosé is an elegant, sophisticated ‘Vin Gris’ manifestation of the red Pinot Noir grape. Pale pink/apricot in hue, with delicate strawberry and melon aromatic cues. Refreshingly crisp on the palate, with watermelon, orange peel and an herbal fennel note.

(Roussanne, Marsanne, Vermentino and Chardonnay) Organic
Made in minimalist fashion, without sulfur additions and usually with long macerations followed by bottling without fining or filtration. The appearance is slightly hazy, while aromas and flavors suggest subtle almond, apple, pear, peach, apricot, toast and spice.

Willamette Valley, Oregon (100% Pinot Noir) Organic/Biodynamic
Sourced from 13 vineyards from all AVAs in the Willamette Valley with 13 different clones, this is a true representation of Willamette Pinot. The aging takes place in a combination of concrete tank and small and medium sized oak barrels with some new and some neutral. Omero avoids additives and manipulative procedures. To highlight this approach the labels have an ingredient list. Bright cherry, cranberry, fresh herbs, forest, bark, pepper and spice with super pure, juicy red fruits. vibrant acidity and a nice balance of earthy, savory herb, spice notes and supple tannin.

Alentejano, Portugal (45% Aragonez, 45% Trincadeira , 10% Touriga Nacional) Organic
Ripe fruit, aromas of dark berry with a hint of spice. Plums, strawberry and cinnamon. Medium bodied wine with smooth tannins and a long finish.
