Saturday Wine Tasting: Mediterrano–Italy, France & California

Imagine a land of bright sunshine, of friendly people, of cinematic beauty and of great heaping plates of delicious food and full glasses of succulent wines. Now visualize the rugged Barcelona coastline shown on the 1992 Olympic broadcast, the Tuscan hills of Bertolucci’s “Stealing Beauty” and the purple Provencal fields of Pagnol’s “My Mother’s Castle.” This is that land, the southern rim of Europe where the living is easy and the wines are easygoing. These lands produce the “wines of the sun.” Plus two California wines, where the living ain’t that hard either.
